Rodolfo Navarrete, born in Santiago de Chile, grew up enjoying Latin music and dance with his grandfather. In his teens, Rodolfo devoted himself to Hapkido, a Korean martial art, but at the end of the '90s, he realized he could turn his childhood passion for dance into a profession and found his true vocation as a dancer. Since introducing Mambo On2 to Chile, Rodolfo has spent the last 15+ years developing his unique method of teaching in Europe. He's been featured at events in Africa, South America, and Europe.
Kai Pretorius was born and raised in South Africa. At the age of 17, after a 12-year education in ballet and modern dance, Kai began her professional dance career. She moved to Europe in 2014 to continue her career and made a stylistic shift toward Afro-Latin dance. Kai has always felt deeply connected to rhythm, and with Rodolfo as her mentor, she has immersed herself in the Salsa world!
Since premiering their dance partnership in 2017, Rodolfo and Kai have performed at events in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK. The pair have also toured with international theater productions and taught hundreds of students across the Netherlands. Rodolfo and Kai co-own Oropuro Dance Community in Amsterdam and are known for their holistic and detailed teaching method, focused on the lead/follow relationship.
