Greetings from a wellness oasis
Where we left our dancing footprints...
A series of short, touristically informative blog posts that evoke wonderful summer dance memories. Enjoy remembering :)
I would say that the smartest thing you could learn during your intense (dancing) lifetime is to take care of yourself. That’s why it’s not stupid at all to start talking about Opatija from self-care point of view :)
Opatija, also called the Pearl of the Adriatic was and still is known for its longest tradition in tourism in Croatia (over 170 years) and with time thanks to its climate and marvelous architecture it attracted guests that were looking for high class and wellness experience.
The setting stone for that kind of tourism was a Villa named Angiolina after one’s patrician deceased wife. So little by little Opatija started to open its door to numerous visitors from all over the Austro-Hungarian Empire and finally was proclaimed a climatic health resort. Today, Villa Angiolina is conveniently a home to the Croatian Museum of Tourism.
Famous seaside promenade ‘Lungomare’ and wonderful well-maintained green parks are true hideaway for the soul. Adding dance to this kind of self-care treatment can only result in ultimate summer experience.
So next time you visit us in Opatija, don’t forget to take your dose of inner peace by dancing through Opatija’s green sites! See you there! ;)
