1. What is a salsa festival?
Salsa Festivals or Congresses are events, lasting from 2 days up to a full week, where dancers, choreographers, musicians and dance aficionados meet and share their passion through dancing salsa and salsa related dances. Nowdays, there are millions of salsa lovers, travelling all over the world and attending salsa festivals.
During the day there are workshops with international instructors for all levels of salsa – from absolute beginners to professionals, while at night there are parties with show performances and, at some festivals, live concerts. Also, Croatian Summer Salsa Festival has a few 'bonus' features – a live party out in the open air, on the main city square, by the sea, and, adored by many returning dancers – our famous Sunday 'pool party'!
2. Who can attend the festival?
The festival is open for all willing to dance salsa and related dances, regardless of previous dance experience. There are workshops for absolute beginners, who will learn to dance in a few days, up to teachers and performers. Everybody can learn something new and get a chance to meet new people. There are no limits, all you need is desire to be a part of it!
3. Which pass is for me?
a) I want to go to parties only?
In this case, what you need is the FULL PARTY PASS – it includes Thursday evening party, Friday evening afterparty, Saturday Gala party, Sunday pool party (boat trip included) and Sunday evening party. If you wish to attend only some of these parties, you can buy a ticket for each separately.
b) I will be there for the weekend, from Friday (or Thursday evening) to Sunday and I want both workshops and parties?...what you need is a FULL PASS.

The same applies to workshops from Friday to Sunday, they are not sold separately – if you wish to go to these workshops, you can go only with a FULL PASS, which includes the parties, too (but if you don't feel like going to the parties, that's up to you). We strongly recommend that you use the best of – if you're already there, learning new moves, the best way to memorize them is to dance them out, and parties are the best place for that. *Please note that if you are a beginner, all of this applies to you, too, just add BEGINNER to all types of above mentioned passes (except party pass).
4. What happens after I buy my pass?
There will be no passes sent via e-mail. We receive notification from bank or credit card company of the payment. Your ' actual receipt' is a wristband which you need to pick up at the festival office in Hotel Park, once you get here. Here are the working hours of the Festival office. In case you can't make it in the working hours of the office, there will be a registation desk at the parties as well.
5. Do I need to wear the wristband all the time?
Yes! This is a must! Please keep the wristband on during all days of the festival – this is your ticket for the workshops and/or parties. if you take it off or break it, you would need to buy a new one, so please do take care of it. It is waterproof, so no worries that it would melt from all the swimming in the sea
6. Can I buy the ticket on-site, in Rovinj?
This is an option. However, due to the fact that in the last two years the festival was sold out, and only some tickets were sold on site, we strongly recommend that you buy your ticket before the festival to make sure that you'll get your pass and get the most out of the festival.
7. Which workshop level is for me?
There will be the following levels: beginner, improver, intermediate and advanced. Intermediate and advanced are split into cuban and line. If you have absoulutely no idea what a 'mambo' step is, then you are a beginner. If you know some basic moves and steps, and have been dancing for at least 3 – 6 months, then go for improver level. If you have been dancing from 6 months, up to 2 years – intermediate is for you and you get to choose your stlye. And finally, well you know what we mean – if you've been dancing sooo long, you're not reading this anyway
